Shungo: The automation suite — routes, rules and unattended play

    Visit the Shungo website

Shungo is the heavyweight of the mod clients: scripted routes, conditional catching rules and near-unattended operation, at a price that only makes sense if you play seriously.

$17 a month (developer price €14.99 a month, one device per subscription)

    Root
Yes — Shungo's own documentation states root is required and iOS is not supported
    Best for
Daily players who want sniping and automation running with minimal supervision

What you are paying $17 a month for

Shungo is a shundo sniper first and an automation suite second. Its documented modes are Sniper, Raid, Kecleon, Blatant, Dynamax and Grunts, plus automatic egg hatching, gift opening, buddy feeding and healing — the tedious parts, handled while you do something else.

The developer sells it at €14.99 a month, and one subscription covers one device; extra devices need extra subscriptions. Our $17 monthly licence covers a month on the phone we ship. If you would not use the automation, you are paying for nothing.

    • Sniper mode for shundo and high-IV hunting
    • Raid, Dynamax, Kecleon, Blatant and Grunts modes
    • Shiny, IV, form and size filters
    • Auto egg hatching, gift opening, buddy feeding and healing
    • Starting cooldown handling and built-in teleportation

    Why root matters more here

Root is not a recommendation for Shungo — the developer's own FAQ states root access is required and that iOS is not supported. Automation also runs longer and touches more of the system than a joystick does, so Magisk 30.7 hiding matters more, not less.

Every device we ship has Zygisk hiding and a Pokémon GO denylist entry already configured and tested.

    The honest downside

Automation is also the most detectable thing you can do. Perfectly-timed, never-tired play patterns are exactly what behavioural detection is designed to find. Slower, more human settings cost you throughput and buy you longevity.

Setup is not casual either. Expect to spend real time on your first route.

Reviewed 28/08/2026. What changed recently, what breaks most often, and how to stay out of trouble.

    Recent changes

    1. August 2026

      Route pacing randomisation

Recent builds add jitter to movement speed and dwell time between stops, which makes automated routes look less mechanical. Leave randomisation on.

    2. July 2026

Rule engine additions for shiny and IV filters

Conditional rules gained finer species and IV filtering, reducing the number of junk catches on long routes.

    3. May 2026

      Licence validation moved server-side

Keys are validated against the developer's servers on launch, so offline activation and shared keys no longer work.

    Safety notes

    • Spoofing breaks Niantic's Terms of Service. Every client on this page carries a real ban risk — use an account you could afford to lose.
    • Only install builds from the developer's own site or Discord. Repackaged APKs on aggregator sites are the most common source of credential theft in this scene.
    • Never sign into a modded client with your main Pokémon GO account's password on a device you did not set up yourself.
    • Keep Magisk 30.7 hiding and the Pokémon GO denylist entry intact. Once hiding fails, mod clients stop working — often silently rather than with an error.
    • Automation multiplies risk. Run shorter sessions at human pace rather than continuous overnight routes.
    • Keep randomisation enabled — mechanically perfect timing is the pattern behavioural detection looks for.

    Shungo alternatives worth considering

    • iPogo

A third of the price for manual play with a joystick and overlays.

    • PokeMod

Middle ground — deep settings, lighter automation, $7 a month.

    • PGTools

Modular automation — PaC, PaS and PaH — alongside your main client.

    Shungo FAQs

Is Shungo worth $17 a month?

Only if you use the automation. For a joystick and IV overlay, iPogo at $5 a month does the same job. Shungo earns its price when routes run daily.

Shungo vs iPogo — which should I buy?

iPogo for manual play with assistance, Shungo for unattended routes and rule-based catching. They solve different problems; many players start on iPogo and upgrade later.

    Does Shungo need root?

Yes. The developer's FAQ is explicit: root access is required and iOS is not supported. There is no unrooted mode.

    Can Shungo run overnight?

It can. We would not. Long unattended sessions are the most detectable usage pattern in the whole category.
