PokeMod: A Magisk module, not a replacement APK — deep settings on the official client

    Visit the PokeMod website

PokeMod hooks the official Pokémon GO client through Magisk instead of replacing it, which appeals to people who want configurability and dislike installing a modified APK.

    Best for
Tinkerers who want granular control and keep the official client

    Module vs modified APK

iPogo, Shungo and PGSharp all ship a modified game client. PokeMod takes the other route: it installs as a Magisk module and hooks the official Pokémon GO app that came from the Play Store.

Practically, that means the game itself stays legitimate and updates normally, and the modding layer sits underneath. It also means PokeMod cannot run at all without root — there is no unrooted mode to fall back on.

    • Runs against the official Play Store client
    • Granular per-feature toggles
    • IV, moveset and spawn overlays
    • Auto-catch and auto-spin on Premium
    • Configuration survives game updates in most cases

    Pricing and what Premium adds

The developer sells access as a Pokemod Pro membership on Patreon at $7 a month, which unlocks the Explorer interface, module control and priority updates. We package that as a one-month add-on at $7 — no lifetime keys, because the subscription is validated against the developer's Discord.

    Who should skip it

If you want to be spoofing five minutes after unboxing, PokeMod is the wrong starting point — iPogo is. PokeMod rewards people who read settings screens.

    Recent changes

    1. August 2026

Module rebuilt for the current game client

Hooks were updated after the August Pokémon GO release; older module versions fail silently on launch.

    2. July 2026

Zygisk compatibility pass for Magisk 30.7

Installation on Magisk 30.7 with Zygisk enabled is now the documented default, which is how our devices ship.

    3. April 2026

      Overlay rework

IV and spawn overlays were rebuilt to reduce frame drops on older handsets such as the Pixel 5.

    Common issues and fixes

PokeMod common issues and how to fix them
    SymptomFix
Module installs but nothing appears in-gameZygisk is off or the module version predates the current game client. Enable Zygisk in Magisk 30.7, update the module, reboot.
Game crashes on launch after an updateThe official client updated ahead of the module. Disable the module, play unmodded or wait, then re-enable once the module catches up.
Overlays stutter on older phonesReduce overlay density in settings — the Pixel 5 and Galaxy S21 handle the lighter overlay set comfortably.
Root hiding stops workingCheck the Pokémon GO denylist entry is still present after any Magisk or Android update.

    Safety notes

    • Spoofing breaks Niantic's Terms of Service. Every client on this page carries a real ban risk — use an account you could afford to lose.
    • Only install builds from the developer's own site or Discord. Repackaged APKs on aggregator sites are the most common source of credential theft in this scene.
    • Never sign into a modded client with your main Pokémon GO account's password on a device you did not set up yourself.
    • Keep Magisk 30.7 hiding and the Pokémon GO denylist entry intact. Once hiding fails, mod clients stop working — often silently rather than with an error.
    • Because PokeMod hooks the official client, a broken module can crash the real game. Disable the module before troubleshooting anything account-related.

    PokeMod alternatives worth considering

    • iPogo

Much lower learning curve for the same core spoofing.

    • Shungo

If what you actually want is unattended automation.

    • PolygonX

Patreon-based automation of the official client.

    PokeMod FAQs

    Is PokeMod safe?

The module itself is not malware, but using it breaks Niantic's Terms of Service and risks a ban. Install from the developer's own repository only.

    How do I use PokeMod?

It installs through Magisk as a module on a rooted device with Zygisk enabled, then adds an overlay to the official game. On our devices that work is already done and tested.

    PokeMod vs iPogo?

PokeMod keeps the official client and gives you more settings; iPogo replaces the client and is far easier to start with.

    Does PokeMod work without root?

No. It is a Magisk module, so root is a hard requirement.
