Pawniard Community Day 2026: Kingambit, bonuses and research
Plan 21 November’s Pawniard catches from 14:00–17:00, then use the later Kingambit evolution, Lure and trade windows until 21:00 local.

Event focus
Pawniard takes the spotlight on 21 November 2026. The afternoon offers extra catches and shorter Egg hatches, while the evening gives you longer to work toward Kingambit, trade and visit regular Lures. The key decision is which Bisharp to evolve for Kowtow Cleave before the later cutoff.
Schedule
Every time below uses your local in-game clock on 21 November.
| Activity | Opens | Closes |
|---|---|---|
| Main wild encounters and catch bonuses | 14:00 | 17:00 |
| Put Eggs into Incubators for quarter hatch distance | 14:00 | 17:00 |
| Evolve Bisharp for Kingambit with Kowtow Cleave | 14:00 | 21:00 |
| Temporary Kingambit evolution requirement | 14:00 | 21:00 |
| Regular-Lure encounter benefit and one-hour Lure duration | 14:00 | 21:00 |
| Extra Special Trade and half-price Stardust trades | 14:00 | 21:00 |
The main catch window ends at 17:00. Evening Lure encounters do not extend every afternoon bonus. Individual research deadlines are not published in the announcement; read each timer when the research becomes available.
Featured Pokémon
- Pawniard: more frequent wild encounters during the main event, with Shiny and Special Background possibilities.
- Bisharp: the evolution stage eligible for the temporary Kingambit requirement.
- Kingambit: evolve an eligible Bisharp during the stated window to obtain the featured Charged Attack.
Wild Shiny and Background encounters remain chance-based. The announcement gives no numerical Shiny rate or guarantee of finding either on a particular catch.
Afternoon bonuses
- Eggs placed in an Incubator from 14:00–17:00 need one quarter of their normal hatch distance. Eggs already incubating do not gain that newly placed-Egg benefit.
- Catches award double Candy during the main event.
- Trainers at level 31 or above have double the chance of catch Candy XL.
- Incense activated during the main event lasts three hours; Daily Adventure Incense is excluded.
- Community Day snapshots can trigger a surprise encounter.
Evening bonuses
- Lure Modules have a one-hour duration benefit during the 14:00–21:00 window.
- Active regular Lures have a very high chance of attracting Pawniard until 21:00, with increased Shiny chance and possible Special Backgrounds.
- One extra Special Trade is available, bringing the day’s maximum to two, during the extended trading window.
- Eligible trades cost 50% less Stardust from 14:00–21:00.
Plan the three-hour Incense and one-hour Lure durations separately. The announcement’s extended encounter benefit specifically refers to regular Lures.
Kingambit evolution and featured attack
During 14:00–21:00, the temporary requirement for evolving Bisharp into Kingambit is to defeat one Dark- or Steel-type Raid Boss with the intended Bisharp as your Buddy. Set that Bisharp as your Buddy before the qualifying battle; the bonus is not a blanket unlock for every Bisharp in storage. The usual requirement returns at 21:00; check the evolution screen for any remaining Candy or other costs before committing.
| Evolution | Featured attack | Trainer Battle power | Gym and raid power | Deadline |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bisharp → Kingambit | Kowtow Cleave, Charged Attack | 75 | 85 | 21 November, 21:00 local |
Correction, 29 October: the official announcement was amended on 28 October to require Bisharp as your Buddy and strike out the previous all-Bisharp wording. This guide now reflects that correction.
Keep time after the catch window to inspect your candidates, complete the qualifying raid and finish the evolution. The attack offer is tied to the qualifying evolution window, rather than every unrelated Kingambit catch.

Reported Field Research tasks
The task tables in this section and the next are reported advance details, not an official task-by-task release. The official notice confirms the reward categories above but does not enumerate these requirements. Treat the tables as provisional and compare them with the in-game Research tab when the event starts.

Preparation
- Make Pokémon storage space before 14:00, and decide which Eggs to incubate inside the quarter-distance window.
- Put your main catching time before 17:00. Use the evening for regular-Lure encounters, sorting Bisharp and trades that qualify for the extended benefits.
- Set your intended Bisharp as your Buddy before a qualifying Dark- or Steel-type raid, then verify its Kingambit requirement and finish the evolution before 21:00.
- For check-in research, find an eligible gathering on the official Pokémon GO map and use that meetup’s own schedule. Individual check-in tasks and reward timers are not listed in the Community Day announcement.
